Description: Beautiful hand-tailored and sewn black silk pleated skirt w/cuffed sleeves and drop waist line, belonging to Eva Braun, the mistress and later wife of Nazi Germany`s Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler. Braun was a petite sized woman and the dress reflects that. The dress has pleatred and padded shoulders, ventillation openings at each armpit, a V-neck collar, and adjustible belt at waist held into place by dainty belt loops. There is a seam split to left waist area that can be easily repaired, and there are a few minute fray spots here and there from use. This dress and many other items belonging to Braun and to Hitler himself were looted from the Berghof, her home, and the Reichs Chancellery in Berlin after the war, and brought back to the United States. This dress was obtained from the gentleman who originally brought it back from Munich. The suit is accompanied by a xeroxed copy of a notarized letter [dated August 3, 1989] and signed by Dr. Mark D. Griffith, attesting to this fact, and lot also includes an xeroxed illustration from page 54 of Volume 2 of Griffith`s book, "Collector`s Guide to `Liberated` Adolf Hitler Memorabilia" written by Griffith in 1986 and picturing this dress and other items obtained. A near once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to obtain such a noteworthy and important piece of history such as this, tied to one of the most evil empires in world history!
