Kansas City antique and collectible appraisal event coming soon!

Manion’s International Auction House and the Wyandotte County Historical Society partner to produce “Antiques Roadshow” style event – October 31, 2009.

Kansas City, Kansas (October 5, 2009) – Did you know the items in Uncle Frank’s old army footlocker, collecting dust in the basement, could be worth a small fortune? How about Aunt Shirley’s costume jewelry you used to play dress up all those years ago; or that funky stained glass lamp that sat in Grandma’s front window? You had better think twice before giving it to Goodwill . . .

Have your items appraised by local antiques and collectibles aficionados during the first annual Antiques and Collectibles Appraisal Extravaganza presented by the Wyandotte County Museum and Manion’s International Auction House. The event will be held October 31, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the George Meyn Community Center in Wyandotte County Park, Bonner Springs, Kansas (126^th and State Ave.).

“We’re pleased to partner with Manion’s International Auction House for this special event,” said Patricia Schurkamp, Director of the Wyandotte County Museum. “They are such a unique company, dealing internationally in militaria and historic collectibles from right here in Kansas City.”

Manion’s Auction representative John Conway said the Wyandotte County Museum is a perfect partner for the event.

“The museum is fantastic; definitely a hidden historical gem in the metro area,” said Conway. “It’s free of charge and full of interactive exhibits highlighting Wyandotte County history from prehistoric man to modern day.”

The event is a fundraiser for the Wyandotte County Historical Society. Appraisals are $25 for three items in advance ($40 at the door).
