Online auction of Pearl Harbor memorabilia closes December 7

Hundreds of items marking the entrance of the US into WWII available on www.manions.com

Kansas City, Kansas (November 25, 2009) – “Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.”

These words, uttered in a speech by Franklin Delano Roosevelt the day after the attacks by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor, will forever mark the entrance of the US into World War Two.

Manion’s International Auction House, Inc. of Kansas City, a leading broker in the sale of militaria and historic collectibles, has acquired a significant grouping of Pearl Harbor related material, and is featuring the collection on their online auction website, www.manions.com, in a special auction closing December 7, 2009.

“Hundreds of visually striking items are available,” said company representative John Conway. “This is an excellent opportunity for a collector, dealer, museum, or other organization, to obtain original Pearl Harbor related artifacts.”

All of the material is stored onsite at the company’s Kansas City, Kansas facility.

“From buttons and brooches to pennants and posters, this collection offers a wide variety of material.” said Conway. “The special auction also includes a grouping of US Navy material from a Pearl Harbor survivor who was aboard the USS Maryland, one of the many ships attacked by the Japanese that fateful day.”

To view all items available in this special auction, visit www.manions.com and click the “Pearl Harbor” banner in the center of the page. Registration is free, but a valid credit card is required to bid.
