Pearl Harbor memorabilia up for bid on Internet auction

Hundreds of items marking the entrance of the US into WWII available on www.manions.com

Kansas City, Kansas (March 12, 2009) –“Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.”

These words, uttered in a speech by Franklin Delano Roosevelt the day after the attacks by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor, will forever mark the entrance of the US into World War Two.

Manion’s International Auction House, a leading broker in the sale of militaria and historic collectibles, has acquired a significant grouping of Pearl Harbor related material, and is featuring the collection on their online auction website, www.manions.com, in a special auction closing April 4, 2009.

“Hundreds of items are available,” said company representative John Conway. “This is an excellent opportunity for a collector, or other organization, to obtain Pearl Harbor related material in plenty of time to organize a December display.”

Conway said items will be added to the auction continuously for several days; he encourages interested parties to check the website frequently for updates.

“From buttons and brooches to pennants and posters,” said Conway, “this collection offers a wide variety of material -- much of which we’ve never before seen at Manion’s.”

To view all items available in this special auction, visit www.manions.com and click the “Pearl Harbor” banner in the center of the page. Membership is free with Manion’s, but a valid credit card is required to bid.
