Recovered museum treasures to be sold through Internet auction

Third phase of Museum of World Wars liquidation begins on www.manions.com

Kansas City, Kan. (October 5, 2007) – Select items from the Museum of World Wars, the largest militaria collection outside of the Smithsonian Institute, had been missing for months.

The uniform of a Russian Czar, items worn by Gerorge C. Scott in the movie Patton, Maximilian Shell’s uniforms from Young Lions and Counterpoint, and items from Hitler’s hideout in Berchtesgaden were but of a few of the items absent from the museum’s inventory. Fortunately, these items have been recovered and are now up for bid on the auction website - www.manions.com.

“Many of these pieces are highly collectible, one-of-a-kind items,” said Manion’s representative John Conway. “When the consignor requested we broker the sale of this newly recovered third offering, we were delighted.”

Through their worldwide reach, and well-established customer base, Manion’s obtained premium prices in previous auctions of items from the museum.

Militaria collectors from around the world placed numerous bids on the initial offerings,” said Conway. “Advanced collectors took the price of several pieces to the upper limits, while others remained affordable enough for the novice to make additions to a collection.”

Manion’s offers benefits to both the buyer and seller of military collectibles. Auctions close daily at 8:30 pm CST, and thousands of new items are posted every week.
