Match made at Manion’s

Co-workers tie the knot in the offices of Manion’s International Auction House

Kansas City, Kan. (January 3, 2008) – While brokering the sale of militaria is usually the name of the game at Manion’s International Auction House, on December 28, the atmosphere changed from medals and badges to flowers and bells as two employees exchanged wedding vows in the company’s Kansas City, Kan. offices.

“It was great getting married around the people that brought us together,” said Gail Karim, who married Guy Manion in the small ceremony. “Getting married at work was a fun idea - get married, have lunch - and go back to work!”

Guy has been with the company since its inception in 1970, and Gail has been employed by Manion’s for six years.

“We’ve known each other for a long time,” said Guy. “We’ve seen each other go through many ups and downs over the years, and we’re great friends.”

The entire event took about an hour, after which the tables were cleared and the operation started right back where it left off.

In addition to longtime employees tying the knot at Manion’s, the ceremony was officiated by a customer of the auction – who happened to be a county judge.

“Just when you think you’ve seen everything at this place,” said longtime employee John Conway. “It was a nice ceremony, and we all certainly wish Guy and Gail the very best.”
