Description: Item is a steel backplate (15" x 16-1/2") for an Imperial German Cuirassier of the line regiment, having rolled edges and 1/2" rivets around the perimeter (five at the neckline). Two inline holes pierce each shoulder for the attachment of scaled shoulder straps that fasten to the breastplate. INTERIOR- seven fastening clips and rivets line the perimeter. While this item must be classified as a relic, due the heavy corrosion and surface pitting, it is nevertheless an interesting artifact from a by gone era.
