Heavy, hand forged 10-1/4" blade, 4" wide. Black Smith stamped "R.M.". Shows age and tarnish, some rust. But look out for that edge! Sharp! Bird`s head shaped green horn grips. Brown leather sheath appears to be a much later adition - features stag head with antlers, oak leaves with acorns. Very artistically done. A very impressive looking chopper, still capable. I imagine this was devised as a skinning and butchering field knife by a hunter or cowhand. The kind of piece that often has great appeal in specialty auctions. Condition: 7
