JAPANESE ARMY MILITARY BAND 1ST LIEUTENANT`S FORMAL DRESS FROCKCOAT

VG WW2 Japanese Army Military Band 1st Lieutenant`s formal dress frockcoat, double-breasted, made of a very fine dark blue-black wool, approximate size 36-38, having dark blue wool collar, piping down the front and around the split tail, and to the dark blue wool cuffs. The two-hook stand-up collar has nice gold-wire tress bordered in and with gold bullion design, each cuff has three buttons and gold-wire Russian braid rank decor, and the front has 14 gold-finished 2-piece buttons with cherry blossom to top [lacks one]. Left waist has buttoned stable loop piped in dark blue wool, and the split tail has six addional buttons. Each shoulder has two loops present for the removeable shoulder boards. The black satiny and quilted lining has two pockets, but makers label has been removed. The sleeves have striped white satiny lining, and the inside collar has 5 ivory studs present for the removeable collar. There are thread beckets and loops for decorations to left breast. Coat displays some soiling, few light moth track spots to collar wool, and a few moth tracks to cuffs with teeny nips. Once coat is cleaned, will make great display item.  Condition: 8
