FRENCH CROIX DE GUERRE MEDAL FOR 1914-1918 W/UNMOUNTED RIBBON

VG- example of the French WW1 Croix de Guerre for 1914-1918, 38mm bronze cross w/crossed swords between the arms, center medallion portraying female head surrounded by a band inscribed "Republique Francaise", reverse having the date of the award. Bronze ring attaches to unmounted 36mm wide green moire, edged in red w/five equally spaced narrow vertical red stripes. Small ding to reverse center near date, medal displaying some light green oxidation spots. Housed in a fair conditioned deep maroon red hinged pressboard case w/push button opener to front and having gilt embossed border to top edges. Bottom of the case has some material flaking loose, some corner scuffs. It has padded white satiny lid lining and maroon velveteen display area. Condition: 8
