Lt.General William Kepner famed pioneer balloonist born Miami, Ind., in 1893. William Kepner`s leadership of the 8th Fighter Command was a key factor in the World War II destruction of the German Air Force. Items include theater made hand embr. 8th AAF sleeve patch that was worn by him in 1943 in combat and is marked on back, bullion embr. AAF sleeve patch, empty book of personal matches with his name imprinted on them and several hand written notes by him with signatures.
