small soft cover-  The 75th fought in the Battle of the Ardennes, the Colmar Pocket, and the Battle for the Ruhr.  This short volume contains some fascinating accounts of life and death on the front lines: "We were about eight buildings deep in the town when a machine gun opened up and killed two of our men.  We spread out.  A squad from Company L was about five buildings down on its side of the road.  Part of the 1st platoon as in a building close to us.  At midnight we got a counter attack from paratroops with panzerfausts and grenades.  They threw grenades in the windows of the buildings we were in and yelled for us to surrender.  The 1st Platoon suffered eight or nine casualties.  Artillery started coming in and hit all around us, but it drove off the enemy and we had no more trouble that night" (page 41).
