HISTORICAL GROUPING OF PHOTOS/PAPERS & SIGNATURES OF MAJOR GENERAL CLAIR STREET USAF

Major General Clair Street USAF Retired Feb. 1, 1952. Died Oct. 1, 1970. In March 1942, he became chief of the Theater Group of the Operations Division in the Office of the Chief of Staff. In November 1942, he was appointed commander of the Third Air Force at Tampa, Fla., and in September 1943, assumed command of the Second Air Force at Colorado Springs, Colo. In January 1944, General Streett was assigned to the Southwest Pacific Area and assumed command of the 13th Air Force the following June. Grouping includes 8x10" size signed photo of Major General Clair of the 2nd AirForce and dated 1943 with dedication. Also includes 1963 dated letter signed by Street, several period photos of Bi-planes, newspaper and magazine clippings. Street was also commander of the Great flight from New York to Nome,Alaska and return. 20pieces. Very Historical grouping to Major General Clair Street!
