BOXED JAPANESE WW2 NAMED ARMY CAPTAIN`S FORMAL DRESS HAT W/PLUME

Average [but very displayable] example of a WW2 Japanese Army Captain`s formal dress hat, complete w/feathered plume, all in original packaging. The hat is a medium size, made of dark blue-black fine wool with gold-wire Russia braid 5-pointed star to the top, with some decor braid to top edges and three rank braid stripes to band. Front of cap has nice gilt-finished stamped Rising Sun emblem with opening to top for insertion of the feathered plume [which comes in its damaged, but complete tube holder]. Hat has black leather chincord w/slides and gilt-finished side buttons having raised cherry blossom to each. The black visor displays some light crazing. The black oil cloth sweatband has piece of it missing, and part of the cornflower blue satiny ribbon is loose in one place and partially missing where the piece of sweatband is missing. The black polished cotton lining has red hand-sewn name to it in crown. The hat box base is bit worn, but pretty solid and complete, and has sticker to side with some characters to it [name?], while the lid has separation to outer rim and is mostly loose from center section [but all is there].  Condition: 6
