ESTATE GROUPING OF DECORATED WW2/KOREAN WAR GENERAL - PHOTO W/BG STARS & MORE

Part of a vast estate grouping, once belonging to MG Harlan Nelson Hartness, famed WW2 and Korean War General, to include: 1) riker mount containing nice official B/W photo of MG Hartness as 4th Division Commander and two of the raised sterling silver pinback stars belonging to the General that he is seen wearing in the photo; 2) mint example of a Turkey Saddle [put on a turkey when they are mating] that belonged to the General; 3) a 4th Infantry Division folder containing 6 original B/W press release photos of distinguished Americans connected with the [War] Bond drive visiting the 4th Division`s Sullivan Barracks in Mannheim, Germany (with info sheets affixed to rear identifying people in photos) and a sheet to the rear listing each of them and what their position back home was; 4) a grouping of historical illustration training problems and situations, including the Battle of Ethe and the Division in a Meeting Engagement [including a map], dtd. 1939-40, as well as several large color maps [one for French and German Concentration Plans in 1914, another from 1934 re France], all used by Hartness at the Command and General Staff School; and 5) a group of Christmas songs sheets used by Hartness` unit during the season. MG Hartness graduated from West Point in 1919, was promoted to BG in 1942, served with and commanded the 26th Infantry Division in 1945 [winning the Silver Star, Legion of Merit and 2 Bronze Star medals], later served as Assistant Commanding General of the 7th Division in Korea from 1946-1948, was named Commanding general of the 4th Division EUCOM in 1950, was promoted to MG in 1951 and retired in 1954. His foreign decorations include the Military Order of the White Lion from Czechoslovakia, and from France the Legion of Honor, Croix de Guerre w/Star and the Croix de Guerre w/Palms.
