JAPANESE WW2 CASED ORDER OF THE RISING SUN, 8TH CLASS, W/RIBBON & ROSETTE

The ORDER OF THE RISING SUN 8TH CLASS OF THE WHITE PAWLONIA LEAVES was established by the Council of State Decree on April 10, 1875, and is a military and civil order. It`s 31mm x 33mm, die struck, single sided, entire medallion is of polished silver, flowers in a 3,5,3, pattern, & pawlonia leaves have very good detail, marked on reverse w/Japanese characters "Order Of Merit Decoration". Both sides display very nice bluish and golden patina. Original ribbon is 37mm wide, watered silk material, white body w/ 7mm red stripes down each side and has uniform hook in back. Comes w/buttonhole rosette with ribbon of same colors in round form. Case is black lacquered wooden box w/hinged lid with gilt inscription on top, silver shield lid clasp, purple satin padded lid lining and purple velvet form fitted interior. Very nice display example!!!!  Condition: 8
