Click above image for full size photos below.
Good+ example of a studio-made Mexican uniform set, most widely known for having been worn in the John Wayne produced, directed and acted 1960 classic, "The Alamo" [also starring Richard Widmark & Laurence Harvey], but also used in the Walt Disney late 1950`s series, "Zorro," starring Guy Williams. The shelljacket is size 40, made of white cotton w/red cotton collar, cuff design and padded shoulder epaulets, hook at collar, 9 button front [domed, 2-piece, unmarked, silver-finished steel, lacks one], and costume company & size marked inside collar area. Jacket displays sweat stain to upper left sleeve [most cleanable]. The matching trousers [manufactured by Lee], have 33" waist and 30" inseam, are made of 100% white cotton w/18mm wide red woven stripe down each leg, working Talon zipper w/button to waist, belt loops, inside suspender buttons, two side pockets, two rear pockets [one buttoned], and inside lining that has Lee label and costume company markings. Very light stains to back waist exterior. Outfit comes w/nice looking studio-made tarbucket, size 7 1/8 [sticker removed], black felt covered & finished top, yellow woven cotton strip at top, body covered in black cotton fabric, black oil cloth strip at bottom, gold-finished leather chinscales w/black leather chinstrap w/buckle, red cotton pom-pom to top, connected to yellow cord decor w/red, white & green leather emblem behind it, and gilt colored wooden oval plate w/bugle below the word "Victoria". It has a black visor and dark blue vinyl 6 tongued liner w/tie string. Pretty good looking! Tremendous opportunity to obtain an authentic piece of Hollywood film memorabilia worn in a John Wayne film that would make a great display set!!!! Condition: 7
