G.A.R. OFFICIAL SOUVENIR BADGE FOR THE 33RD NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT [1899]

Nice looking display example of the G.A.R. Official Souvenir 33rd National Encampment Badge, held at Independence Hall in Philadelphia from September 4-9, 1899. The bronze brooch, in the shape of the top hanger part of the famed Liberty Bell, has part of the pb and catch, just lacking the needle pin attachment. Unfortunately, the pendant is NOT original to this badge [the original pendant was in the shape of the Liberty Bell w/G.A.R. emblem to front], and we are not sure what it is. This gilt-finished 10-pointed badge has Maltese Crosses to each tip and has a domed bronze half-Earth [showing the North and South American continents] riveted to center.  Condition: 6
