Very interesting and sobbering hardcover book, written by Lt.-Colonel Millard E. Tydings, who was a former Division Officer for the machine gunners. Published by Harford Publishers in Maryland and dedicated to the unit`s dead, this 140 page book features several poems, organization of the 29th Division, discussion of the front in France and battles at Alsace to Verdun, the Meuse-Argonne, Etrayes Ridge, and commanders Butcher & Keating, summary of activities and a detailed extended roster of the Machine Gun units of the 29th. There are 4 plates of B/W photos from the operations described in book spaced throughout. A few dings to spine ends, but overall well conditioned. Great reading. Condition: 8
